Newfold Cottage has been tastefully decorated throughout by the current owners with high end carpets, flooring, furnishings, soft furnishings including bedding linen and towels. The kitchen is fully equipped with pans, plates and utensils and you will find everything you need for an enjoyable stay.
The town has a vibrant, bustling atmosphere, especially in the summer months and a superb lakeside setting with lovely views across the lake. Independent retailers, cafés, restaurants, supermarkets and bars are all just a stroll away from the cottage.
Visitors can enjoy a boat ride to Ambleside or perhaps enjoy a picnic on the shore whilst watching the world go by. There are walks in abundance right from your doorstep, and whether it be a steady stroll or a hardy ramble, the scenery will not disappoint. Bowness caters for all ages with plenty to see and do including the Beatrix Potter Exhibition, Steamboat Museum, cinema, as well as a crazy golf pitch and putt course, cycle hire and a sailing marina.

Newfold Cottage is non-smoking, dog friendly, family friendly, sleeps six and it is in a fantastic location.
We have 2 private parking spaces, one to the front of the property and one to the rear car park, both conveniently signposted.
Access to Newfold Cottage is via a secure key box, the property is supplied with electricity and gas central heating, easily controllable via a Hive system.
Clean bed linen and towels, toilet rolls, toiletries and Wi-Fi are included in your stay. To the front of the property is a gated courtyard providing outdoor seating and tables and even a boot scraper!
This area is perfect for relaxing and watching the world go by!
The cottage entrance welcomes you with stone steps, a charming porch, featuring a sturdy wooden door and a boot bench for your convenience.
The first bedroom is a newly fully furnished bedroom with a comfortable double bed, wardrobe, drawers, mirrior, & a smart TV for all your entertainment needs.
The ensuite bathroom features a modern shower, a sleek sink, and a comfortable toilet, all designed to provide convenience and comfort during your stay.
The 2nd Bedroom is a spacious master bedroom with a King size bed, dressing table, wardrobe & Smart TV, hairdryer, iron & ironing board are all provided.
The family bathroom comes equipped with an ample sized bath, separate walk in shower, sink & toilet. All toiletries are included for visitors for their stay.

Built in 1836 Newfold Cottage was a central part of the former Free Grammar School.
The foundation stone was laid by William Wordsworth the world-famous poet, making this historic cottage a rich addition to the local history of the Lake District.
The foundation stone is still in place to the front of the building and is a popular feature of the village.
The cottage has evolved over the years, transitioning from an educational institution to a charming holiday retreat, while still retaining its historical essence.
